Floor covering was never important for me - was a waste of money, time and reminded me about all bacteria and mites. After some time my real British nature came to light. I was fed up with bare surfaces and found out that my floor needs covering. I`ve tried to fight with that but I couldn`t.
Starting from the entrance mats all must be on the right place now. It became very important to me cause I`ve always had problems with keeping my floor clean. I cleaned floor almost every day in almost every room. Especially winter and Autumn were difficult for me. When my children were coming back from school, walk or after making a snowman on the yard they were always running very fast into the house. Not even thinking about shaking their shoes from snow or mud before entering. After that the whole house was just a mess - with mud and water all over the place. And even if I told them not to do that they`ve never remembered.

Similar problem had with my cats or dogs. After I was bringing them back home from a walk they were usually wet and filthy. Not seldom they were trying to get rid of the water they were covered with by shaking their bodies and spreading it on the floor. When they were just puppies keeping the house clean was a great challenge. And not mentioning the dirt that was left by the paws and fur almost flying in the house. A total nightmare!
Different problems had with my husband and his long showers. After having one he was always leaving the bathing-machine and stepping on the ground with his bare feet. The floor was always wet after that. And once the real tragedy happened. When he was leaving the shower he slipped on the wet floor and fall down! He bumped into his head really hard and his ankle was hurt. We got to the hospital immediately and after the examination it appeared that happily everything is all right with the had but unfortunately the ankle was sprained. That wasn`t a great day for us. But it was probably the first time I thought really serious about floor coverings.
Today many things have changed. Since I`ve cheerfulled my floor with different types of colorful stripe mats and dirt trapper mats even my children started to remember about wiping their shoes and leaving them in the corridor (not in the room as used to). Now they are always laughing when seeing the entering door mat with funny sign: `Please wipe your paws`. And my non slip bath mat brought a revolution into my bathroom - my husband is not afraid anymore to leave the shower as used to and I`m not mad at him anymore cause the floor isn`t wet.
So from now on floor coverings became an important part of my life. They`ve created a positive image of my floor and a pleasant mood in my home.
