Fashion as any any other part of human life has it`s own stereotypes. Many years ago it was said: long hair, scarves, skirts and make up are for women, trousers, ties, short hair and suits are for men. Are those days a history now?
Stereotypes are very useful in our lives. They present a system by which we can live easily. Also an easy-to-gauge archetype and if they are to strict they`re closing people`s thinking in schemes. We don`t like new ideas and like to believe that everything is black or white - in fashion: for women or for man.

Many women believe that tights were made specially for them and laugh if they partners start to wear them. Those women are wrong. In the beginnings of tights their only users were men. They not only invented them but till XIX century didn`t let women to wear them. In the space of decades wearing tights was a sign of good birth, an element of man`s aristocratic wardrobe. While closer to our times their range decreased and they became more popular and ordinary. Also a piece of women`s wardrobes. If man wants to have warm clothes the only thing left are warm trousers.
Women don`t remember that they used to fought to wear man`s trousers and ties. One of the reason of this battle was to have a privilege to practical and comfortable clothes. In some aspects women and man are just the same - it`s a willing to have comfort, stay healthy and safe. According to that the stereotype that the real man don`t wear scarf is only a slogan. Because the reality is totally different. When it`s cold also a man needs to stay warm no matter what the weather. That`s why they appreciate wearing scarves. For example cashmere scarf or shawl also gives a finish to a `look`, pleasure in it`s unique touch. Mens scarves are usually in different colours than women`s and the only shinny scarf might not look good on a man`s neck.
What about skirts? The classic one are still tend to be worn only by women. The stereotype that man are only wearing trousers is so strong in our culture that we can`t free from that. And are we forgetting about Asian culture where men are wearing kimonos and Scottish culture where every man has it`s own kilt? Perhaps it isn`t a totally good example (real kilt-lovers might feel offend with comparing kilts to skirts) but this shows that man may look good not only in trousers-shape clothes.

Every year brings a new changes to fashion. And after time those revolutions are becoming natural - but first they must break the rules and stereotype thinking.

You use them everyday and they are almost all around. In different shapes, sizes and colors with one name - table. Word `table` comes from Latin as it meant `a board, flat piece`. The shortest definition might say `furniture; piece of horizontal surface, standing on leg(s), used to hold objects`. Now designing and making tables became an art. It`s not only useful thing anymore but also an element of decoration.
Changes in social habits, industrial development brought many modifications in the look of furniture and tables as well. Early tables, made by Egyptians and Chinese, were platforms of stone used only to put something on them (not to sit around) or to practise writing or painting (in the second case). Romans and Greeks used their tables for eating so as monk`s in Middle Ages. But in this period tables weren`t popular. Mostly made of wood, designed only for aristocracy, kings, queens and of course for monk`s. There were four leged, big, heavy and rectangular oak tables in monasteries which served gatherings and eating. This usage left during the centuries and tables become more popular. And in 17th century, as it was common to eat in the dining rooms, tables had to change their shapes. The`ve brcomed smaller and more comfortable, oval and round. In the same time appeared three leged tables. Next age brought a totally new usage of tables - they became a place of work for women who sewed.

Nearer our times tables started to vary. Altough the purpose of eating left, tables are used in other practical and unpractical ways, for example to put map, computer or puzzles on it; as a piece of art and sometimes even as a place of sexual intercourse. Different types of tables have their own unique names, shapes and functions like: low, designed for a living room, coffee tables; big drawing tables, for a technical drawings; chess tables, with a special boards to play, or small, standing against the wall console tables .
As it was said at the beginning, the attitude towards making tables changed. And it refers to all types of furniture. Now making furniture is not only an industry but it`s equal to any other kind of art. Closer to this century also some materials used for modern furniture changed. We have leather, fabric, mesh, metal, microfibre, and wood. Very popular is making furniture from glass, steal and metal. People are giving much more attention to what it looks like than what it was made for. More important became a special design of the furniture. In a result we have even seperate occupation as designer furniture , whose job is to make our tables more beautiful and original.
